Professional Experience

Post Doctorate Research.

LACE, UMR 5634 CNRS, Universite Claude Bernard-Lyon I, 43 Bd du 11 Novembre 1918. 69622 Villeurbanne Cedex, France.

A Faraday magnetic balance was used to measure the bulk reduction of ceria zirconia mixed metal oxides impregnated with a NM, Pd, Pt, Rh.

LISE, Facultés Universitaires Notre Dame de la Paix, rue de Bruxelles, 61 B-5000 Namur, Belgium.

The surface study of both powder and thin film ceria zirconia mixed metal oxides using XPS was performed. Surface reduction of the cerium, surface composition of the mixed oxides and the oxidation state of the NM were all studied.

Chemistry Dept., UCC, Cork, Ireland.

My PhD project consisted of the preparation and structural analysis of lanthanum nickel perovsikites. The perovskite system was doped with iron and europium to see the modifications that these elements caused to the crystal lattice. PXRD coupled with Rietveld Refinement methods, Mössbauer spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility measurements, VSM and SEM were the analytical techniques employed in characterisation of these materials.
