The crystal structure of lead (Pb-X) and lead-cesium (Pb,Cs-X) exchanged zeolite X were refined using X-ray diffration data from single crystal and synchrotron radiation (SR). The statistical analysis of the structure factor amplitudes of SR data suggests that the correct space group is Fd3m. Comparison of refinements with data collections by SR and conventional sources (CR) indicates that the total Pb content is the same in both cases. However, in PbCs-X, a new Pb site with a small accupancy is detected near the middle of the six-membered ring. The significant increase in observable of the SR data collection allowed the location of several non-framework O peaks with low occupancy.
