Curriculum vitae

Mauro Graziani has been full professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Trieste since 1975.The scientific interests of Professor Graziani have moved from organometallic chemistry, to homogeneous catalysis, to catalyst heterogeneization on various type of supports, and finally to heterogeneous catalysis using transition metals supported on different oxides. In particular with the last mentioned systems it has been studied the hydrogen production for fuell cell applications, the water gas shift reaction and the NO + CO reaction. Special attention has been reserved for the synthesis and characterization of the materials used as non inert supports. For example, the redox properties and the catalytic activity of noble metals on CeO2-ZrO2 mixed oxides have been studied extensively due to their importance in the three-way catalysis. He is author of more than 180 publications and has been invited to present lectures at the most prestigious congresses in the field. He was the Dean of Faculty of Sciences and vicepresident of Area Science Park in Trieste (up to 2002) and of Trieste Synchrotron (up to 2005).
